Paper Towels
If you have existing dispensers that you would like to fill, measure the size of the towel compartment, and choose the appropriate towel size (from the C-fold, Z & M fold, V-Interfold pages). C Fold and Z Fold towels, with a folded depth of about 8-9cm, generally go through the same size of dispenser, while Interfold towels are deeper (from the front to the back of the dispenser) - about 10-11cm. Most dispensers will take towels around 23-25cm wide, but some Kleenex/KC units are only 21-22cm wide - we have some suitably narrow towels which will fit., and usually save you a lot of money.
If you are choosing a new system, go for either Interfold or Z Fold, so a new towel is presented each time you pull one out. With a C Fold system, you have to fumble under the unit to find the end of the towel!
You then have a choice of a basic 1 ply towel (usually Blue or green) which will do the job, or a better quality 2 or 3 ply (usually white) for a more pleasurable hand drying experience! Recycled towels tend to be less soft than those with a higher proportion of virgin pulp. The more plies, the thicker the towel, and the nicer it is to use.
If you want something more multi purpose than individual hand towels – in a kitchen area for instance – have a look at centrepull / centrefeed rolls, which give you a compact wall mounted roll of paper that doubles as a hand towel and a kitchen roll. Again, there is a wide choice of absorbencies and qualities.
