Latex Allergy

When choosing gloves, you need to be aware that latex can cause an allergic reaction in certain people, and there is plentiful information about it available on the internet. The latex glove manufacturers have worked hard in recent years to reduce the amount of latex protein in their gloves, primarily by repeated washing during the process, and latex gloves are still the glove of choice among many medical professionals. To minimise the chance of any allergic reaction, you should also opt for Powder Free gloves, because the corn starch used for powdered gloves can be an irritant.

We have a particularly good latex substitute in our soft Nitrile gloves, which have much of the tactility of latex, and actually exert less pressure on the hands than a latex glove. they come in various thicknesses and colours, and we can let you have samples to try on - as with all our gloves. Another option is Stretch Vinyl, which is substantially cheaper, although dexterity is not as good as Nitrile.
