Check the Spec!

As in most things, in the world of disposable hygiene products, you tend to get what you pay for. When comparing anything from a plastic bag to a paper towel, there are so many things the manufacturer can do to make the quality suit a certain price point, from playing with the size to varying the thickness and the purity of the raw material.

If we look at paper products such as centrefeed rolls, the standard specification has fallen in 30 years from 25cm wide to 18-20cm, and the length of the average roll has fallen from about 180m (2 ply) to 110-140m. It may not sound a lot, but the difference of between 20cm and 22cm is 10%, so the pack price may vary by about £2. So always check what specification you are buying, and if it isn't mentioned, you can be sure the roll will be a short one. Don't be fooled by the diameter either - it's quite simple to wind rolls loosely and use a large core to make a 110m long roll look the same as a 150m one.

We try wherever possible to give grammages of products, and specify whether they are pure or recycled. Most of our products are unbranded and made to our specification by low cost manufacturers to make them as competitive as possible, but we endeavour to match or exceed the quality of the well-known brands.

With chemicals, the scope for manipulating the product is just as broad, and often a little more water in the mix does the trick! We hope you will agree that our cleaners and sanitisers work quickly and effectively, as well as being good value for money.
